Zodiak German Shorthairs

I am not a breeder, but if I was, this line of Shorthairs would be the one for me. I have been watching these guys over the past few years win awards going to trials along with some great bird hunting outings. Pups are available at times, so if you're interested in a top of the line GSP that can do it all, check into this line.

Happy Hunting !

Shorthair Helpers

Well hunting season is over now, so what are your plans? What can you do with your Shorthair for some fun? Well around here we make maple syrup in the spring. Our Shorthairs love "sap season" It's warming up and the crew is out in the woods gathering sap to make syrup. The dogs love it. One of their favorite things to do, is drinking out of the sap buckets, they love the sweet taste, and enjoy the challenge of me not catching them in the act. Here is a photo of one of the guilty hounds, caught again!

German Shorthairs and Facebook

After some time on facebook, I decided to look up German Shothairs. Much to my surprise I found a huge following there. I have now made friends as far away as Poland. I also have met some very nice and knowledgeable people. There is everything from kennels to just your average bird hunter. The photos have been a big surprise as well, nothing short of spectacular. So if you have some spare time and would like to meet other Shorthair lovers this may be your place. I have included a link to a kennel that has some great shorthairs. So go ahead and check it out, you wont be sorry.

Claim Jumpin'

Have you ever taken people hunting with you and then find out they brought their buddies to the same places when you happened to be away? This type of behavior among bird hunters is totally unacceptable and should not be tolerated. And to top it off these guys were friends. So what can you do to stop this disease you ask? Here is what we did.
1) clean your birds at their campsite while they're away
2) clean your birds where they park at their favorite spot.
3) Bring up the poor conduct in front of an audience at the local gathering spot (tavern) and let Scooter bash them with his literary arsenal, he actually made one of them cry!
